About
DUER is an art collective based in Oslo, Norway. Combining the forces of Magnus Helgesen, Magnus Aasvestad and Christian Zervos, DUER has made waves in both pop culture and fine arts with their work across installations, murals, canvases and clothing.
There are obvious parallels to DUER’s art and their multinational heritage and the up-bringing in the underground graffiti scene of Oslo. Graffiti aesthetics, elements from ancient Greece and South Korean pop culture are melted together to create a distinct, pop expression. In combination with seamless technique, DUER is becoming one of the most exciting art collectives working out of Norway.
Beginning their art endeavors in Oslo’s graffiti scene, the word about DUER’s work traveled quickly throughout pop culture, and the young collective quickly found themselves creating hand painted clothing and canvases for international superstars such as Tyler the Creator, Sway Lee, Chainsmokers, Astrid S, Trippie Redd, 6ix 9ine and Jorja Smith. Fueling DUER’s association with the music scene, the trio has also crafted installations and murals at music festivals such as Kadetten, Stavern, Øyafestivalen and Idyll.
Recently securing a mural at the notorious project Rev Ocean curated by Magne Furuholmen, DUER is now turning heads amongst the traditional art scene as well, following up their installations on display at conferences such as Our Ocean and Xynteo Exchange.
Recent years has enabled the trio to focus on canvases, including a group exhibitions at Bomuldsfabrikken and FineArt, and their first solo exhibitions at the notorious Bærum Kulturhus and Gategalleriet in Bergen.
In April 2023 the artist opened their own gallery in the heart of Oslo, named Galleri Duer. Focusing on contemporary art, the gallery displays everything from canvases and sculptures, to photography and installations.
